human relationships?
For a person to reach a stage of sovereignty, acceptance, and forgiveness,
they must accept their feelings as they are. They do not need to frame
them in terms of whiteness, perfection, or purity. Our feelings — with all
the depth they carry — are what distinguish us, shaping our humanity and
defining who we are.

She Is Commanded reflects on the moment when humanity began to
adapt to the earth, tracing its journey of coexistence and development.
Nature and the materials extracted from the earth have always been
essential to human life. Yet humanity did not leave them untouched;
instead, it infused them with echoes of inner emotions. From this
interaction between human beings and nature, the letter was born—
narrating a human history that immortalizes experiences and leaves a
lasting impact on future generations.
Amid this profound legacy of storytelling and memory, the artist is
captivated by the marks left behind. She finds inspiration in exploring the
potential of surrounding materials—gathering, deconstructing, and
reshaping them—in an effort to unveil the essence of Al-Madinah Al-
Munawarah. This journey has enabled her to decode the city’s culture,
which has deeply influenced her.

Through her paper sculpture, she revives these stories using cuneiform
and pictographic writing alongside Arabic letters, paying tribute to a rich
history, deep heritage, and an identity that stretches back thousands of
years. The work attempts to interpret the contradictory dualities between
the created and the concealed, the present and the absent, the past and
the future. These dualities reflect her vision of connecting disparate
worlds that express the continuous human experience—rooted in our
enduring relationship with the earth, its materials, and nature.
